2020 has proven to be anything than a typical year when it comes to wedding planning. Many couples have postponed their weddings until next year. - Your back yard. What could be more easy or more personal than you own home. A few decorations, maybe a tent, and you can celebrate your nuptials right in your own home or where you grew up.
- A secret garden. Do you know someone with a beautiful garden or a nearby estate with a private garden. Some people may offer up their location for a small private event.
- Your favorite restaurant. What better way to support your favorite local restaurant than to host your wedding there. Many places have private rooms or patios that could be perfect for a small wedding and then easily provide you with some cocktails and hors d oeuvres.
- A boutique hotel or BnB. Rather than a big ballroom wedding, why not consider a smaller hotel or BnB and an intimate parlor or gathering space for your wedding.
- The beach. It’s still summer. With Milwaukee’s beautiful lakefront you could gather on the beach or even a bluff to exchange vows.
- A museum. The Milwaukee Art Museum or Public Museum are great places for large gatherings, and small ones too. You can also look at smaller local history museums, art museums and specialty museums for a unique place to gather your group for your wedding.
- A wine bar or brewery. If you enjoy a glass of wine or craft beer, contact your favorite brewery or wine bar to reserve space for your wedding and say cheers to your I dos.
- Your favorite club. We left this category a little broad. Your favorite club could be a night club, supper club or country club. All of which would make great wedding venues for your intimate affair.
- A historic venue. Like museums, historic venues bring a lot of character to your wedding. Some options could be old mansions, theaters, outdoor history museums or even historic public buildings (check for permit requirements at public places).
- Out on the farm. While there are many local barn venues, a small farm might be more fitting for a short, small gathering. Think of the possibilities, it could be an orchard, corn maze or even Christmas tree farm.
