Becky and Nick celebrated their wedding vows with an intimate group of family and friends that included someone very special, Milwaukee Archbishop Jerome Listecki. Nick is the chef for the seminary so when it came time take the sacrament of marriage, it seemed only fitting the the Archbishop perform their ceremony and mass. As a photographer, who’s been to nearly 1000 weddings, it was an honor to photograph this event and to hear the Archbishop’s words.
He reminded us what a wedding, and life, is all about…love. He also reminded all of us what love, particularly in marriage, is all about. Love is inclusive. If you truly love, you do not exclude. Love takes effort. We do have to work at love and loving, but finding it and celebrating it is its own reward. Finally, he reminded us to be wowed by love. Love is a wonderful thing and we should not take it for granted but celebrate all that it brings. It was a real treat to hear his words and think about the meaning of love and all of the love I’ve had the pleasure to experience over my 30 years as a photographer and throughout my life.
Following the service and mass, we all headed to Nick and Becky’s home where everyone celebrated their union with wonderful food, drink, games and dancing. Sendik’s Catering provided the food with everything from appetizers to salad and two dinner entrees. There were games that all of the kids, and even some adults enjoyed, cigars and a signature drink, and some wonderful background and dancing music for everyone to enjoy. The weather and everything was simply perfect for this wonderful couple and their families. Congratulations Becky and Nick.
